I would like to know why the Frankfort Hospice organization is buying the old Hayworth, Meyer and Boelyn building on Teton Trail? This is the same building abandoned by state government due to structural and sanitation problems. Why did the board vote to buy this terrible building when a new building off of Sower Boulevard was a better choice. This deal smells of cronyism. How many Hospice board members live in Two Creeks near the HMB building's owner?
Please do what is right, board members. Change this decision. Don't grease someone by taking a worthless piece of real estate off their hands at the expense of Hospice. Mr. Meyer may be a major donor but the organization will have to work in this building for many years to come and deal with the very same problems state government abandoned. Frankfort and Hospice deserve better.

grosslyunderestimated, with all due respect, your questions are all legitimate, but without the answers to those questions, your opinion has no merit.

The point is: who or what influenced the Hospice board members to make this decision? Why did the board vote to buy a building with a history of problems? Why not buy a new building that will serve Hospice well into the future? Don't spend good money on a problem building. I'd rather not see this building "unloaded" on the Hospice organization while an uninformed, apathetic public stands on the sidelines. The Hospice board needs to change this decision.

I'll be glad when the next "trendy" phrase replaces due diligence..................

You have to think that Hospice did the proper due dilligence. Typically new construction costs much more than real estate that was constructed some time ago. I guess you would have to look at the details of the economics before you jump out there and say it was a "bad deal" and that "cronyism" was involved. Surely the folks at Hospice are capable of evaluating the situation and make the decision that is in their best interest.

webby - I believe the issue is with the Board and its attachment to the building; not any connection to HMB, the organization.

I looked at the website for hospice and none of the names of the board members jumped out at me as being Two Creeks residents. Enlighten me. What is the connection to HMB? I don't doubt that the building has problems; I just don't understand the connection of HMB to hospice.

I think a better suggestion would be to plow the building(s) and start over. If it's the one or two I'm thinking of why waste money and time trying to fix them.

Thanks for bringing this to the attention of the public. Maybe Mr. Meyer will donate the money to fix the problems with the building????
