My Church, Capitol City Christian ,currently has a short term mission team in Haiti. Please pray for them. They are in northern Haiti and are O.K. for now. This Group includes Clinton Hall, the Children's Minster, Mandie Scott who co-leads a Small group Bible study on Monday nights and Doug Riddell a great guy in his 60's who has lead this group to Haiti for a long time, along with others.
Pat day spoke at a fundraiser for this mission trip last month.
Here is a facebook quote from Clinton posted moments ago"

Clinton Hall
We are in a rich French businessman house for the moment. We slept outside not wanting to be in any structure. The aftershocks went all night. They were very strong. We are on the south coast right below p-a-p. We have no way to travel as all the mountain roads are closed. We are hoping to try to charter a flight at some point. Me, dad, Jordan, ... See Morechris weeks, Bobby Scott, Kyle scott, Danyelle and Christian kincaid, and Ben are in jacmel. Mandie, julie, doug, Jason and Andrew are in fonds Parisian and we have not heard from them. I was able to call my mom and she said someone had heard from them so we are hoping they are ok.

I am happy that your people are ok, they will be in my prayers, but right now the strength of my prayers will go to the people of Haiti. They are going to need many prayers. Their lives have been devistated, they are looking for family and friends, with no place sleep, eat or go for help. Earthquakes are horrible they take such a short time to destroy so much. God be with them in their time of need and desperation.

Dear Capital City Member,

By now, you've heard about the devastating 7.0 earthquake 10 miles west of Port-au-Prince Haiti and the extreme damage caused by this earthquake. You may also know that Capital City Christian has a mission team of 13 church members on the ground in Haiti and that team was due to return Thursday night at 11:55.

We would like to share this important info with you concerning our team:

1. We have heard from our team and ALL members are OK " they have food & water

2. The team had split into 2 groups prior to the earthquake. Each team knows the other team is safe.

3. One group is located in Jacmel, located approximately 60 miles south west of Port-au-Prince and the other group is in Fond Parisien, approximately 70 miles east of Port-au-Prince.

4. We do not yet know when our team will be returning to Kentucky.

5. We have no reliable form of communication with the team, but have been receiving pictures & texts sporadically from some members of the team. Family members here in Frankfort have received intermittent communication from the folks in Haiti.

6. We have not heard from Raymonde Jacques, a fellow church member who is originally from Haiti and serves as coordinator for the Haitian Needy Children's Foundation. She is also in Haiti at this time.

WE WILL BE HAVING A SPECIAL PRAYER/WORSHIP SERVICE FOR OUR TEAM TONIGHT AT 6:30 IN THE ADULT SANCTUARY " ALL ADULT CLASSES WILL BE CANCELLED. CHILDREN'S CLASSES WILL CONTINUE AS NORMAL.

We ask that you pray for the following things:

1. Continued safety of our team members

2. That God may use our team to minister to those affected by the devastation in Haiti

3. Our church supports full-time missionaries in Haiti. Please pray for their safety & ministry during this crisis. Their names are Marky & Sydney Kessa, Thomas Prophete & Steve Prophete. We also support the Haitian Needy Children's Foundation.

4. That God's love and grace may be revealed through our church's actions & the actions of other Christian efforts in the weeks and months to come.

Please check the Capital City Christian Church website, www.capitalcitychristian.org for more information or check our Capital City Christian Church Facebook page for updates.

We will be sending out additional updates as we become aware of developments. Any media should contact the church (695.1188) and ask for Jon Sutphin.

I have been listening to K-Love all morning and they have received calls from many Americans that are in Haiti for various reasons and the tales of destruction are heart-breaking! My heart goes out to the people of Haiti and my prayers are with them.

It seems God placed many missionaries in that country at just the right moment. He does work in mysterious ways! Your church family is in my prayers as well.

The mother of a classmate/teammate of my daughter is there with the CCCC Mission group, so I pray they are all well and safe!
