For reasons all my own I am stepping down as the Leader of the Cable Box rebellion. Despite what you may think ,it has nothing to do with the threat of violence at these protests.
The cause is just. The profit made from these Box rentals is merely a hidden rate hike and hurt the poor the most. The profits made from these Cable Boxes can be used to fund the perks for the bigwigs at the fpb. Therefore I am hopeful that someone will Rise up and take over Leadership of the Cable Box rebellion of 2010. Are you up to the Challenge?

May the farce be with you!

Jeez, How can you step down from an event that never occurred?

The extra charge for the cable box is part of restructuring of the technology used by the FPB.

There was never any attempt to raise the rate for a rate increase. The cable box is totally nec for the FPB to advance modern technology.

If you don't like the service of the local cable then call and have them disconnect it. Buy yourself an outdoor antenna and watch the three Lex stations for free.

Seems dissenters always have some non issue to fight about without using ordinary intellect to be better informed.

Reasonable xplains have been made on this issue but no matter how one xplans, the decanters just want to gripe. And, that for sure . . . is FREE

No one threatened violence at the protesters. It never happened. period.

What did happen was that you repeatedly exposed your ignorance and poor reading skills.

Further you abused the public service offered by the SJ's website -- as someone pointed out in your previous post on this non-issue.

Not only were most of the issues on this topic covered COMPREHENSIVELY in earlier posts on the SJ website by other people but all the questions etc that you repeated here ad nauseum would have easily been addressed / answered by simple google searches.

cable television is a luxury, not a necessity.

get over yourself.

it appears that Motorola \ or other makers, can sell cable boxes retail. However, a public utility is not allowed to sell the cable box.

Check further . . . A standard cable box would not work because of the software that performs encryption. There are phases of the box software that are only available to public utilities. It allows the Cable Company to further automate their service. Therefore the standard cable box would not have the same performance as the cable box rented by the plant board.

With these FEDERAL restrictions and tight copywriter laws it appears the local cable company does not have a choice.

I'm going to Lex to take down an antenna tower from a house that no longer needs it.
