FIS Snow Day? Great, but a little late!

I am a little disappointed in how late Rich Crowe waited to make the decision to cancel school on Tuesday morning for Frankfort Independent Schools. I understand that he feels FIS needs to maintain the image of being the school that never misses a day, however, calling school at 10 minutes before 7:00 am is a little late. I have 2 Students that attend FIS and both of them were up, dressed and finished with breakfast. We had already turned the TV off and were assuming school for us was on, AS USUAL. Then a friend called and heard it on the radio that it had been called off late. I am sure there were teachers at school already or at the very least on the road under these dangerous conditions (which ended up being for nothing). I hope in the future we can all get a little more of a heads up.

I was up at 2:30 am. It wasn't doing anything at that time. I think this was a system that snick up on everybody.

It was inconvenient with the late call, but at least our kids didn't have to face the accidents that Jefferson County had.

I'd never want to be the guy who makes the decision to call off school... Parents complain when their angels are on snowy roads. Parents complain when school is closed and they kids have to stay home...
They're never happy.

Not saying you're complaining, just saying I don't want Mr Crowe's job.
