VIEW OBSTRUCTION

I wish to know how so many vehicles "get by" with having their vehicle windows covered with snow when they are driving. I observed a car this week with 3/4 of the windshield and the entire rear window covered with snow with someone driving. The driver's manual (and the law), say this is VIEW OBSTRUCTION. When I was younger, I received a citation because I hadn't cleaned my
rear window from snow. I suppose they can get by with it now. There's no way in the world that they can see out through their rear view mirror. And, folks, that is against the law.

When we have snow, headlights and all other lights on the car, whether it be in the front or rear, should be clear of snow. Your license plate should also be free of snow. If it is not, and if you should get stopped, the officer will make you clean the license plate off yourself because the same thing happened to me. Also, people who fail to clean off their windows are just PLAIN LAZY. If they have an accident and hit you, it's their fault for not cleaning off their windows. Just be sure to have a camera with you to take pics to show to the police officer when he arrives.

Also in snowy conditions, one should remove the snow from their headlights and tailights.

Hecker, You are right.

What about windshield tinting? I know alot of people that have that too. That scares me more than snow. I have 35% on my windows, and I still crack them from time to time to see.

These are the same people who do not clean any snow off their cars, causing it to fly on the windshield of the unfortunate car following them. This, too, is dangerous.

And I'm sure if the police saw this individual they would receive a citation also. It's kinda like a foul in a basketball game - if they don't see it, it's not a foul. I'm just sayin............

I agree that it is dangerous to drive without clearing all windows of ice and snow. I don't know if it would apply to snow or not, but it is legal to drive a vehicle without being able to see through the rear window as long as the vehicle has side view mirrors on both sides.
