Richie Farmer will bring the same set of skills to this GOP campaign that Sarah Palin brought to the McCain campaign. Thoughts?

Has anyone seen the senator's nice "home away from home" on Shelby Street? Really ($$$) nice place, front yard recently resodded and professionally landscaped by a local contractor. Nice wood fence around the back yard recently installed by well known fence contractor. Big fancy Lincoln Town car parked in front of the house. Must be freaking nice!! Our tax $$$$$$$ at work?? Nah, Just askin??? And another thing - what the h**& does the Lt. Gov. do anyway??

glib, I could not agree with you more. You said it all. Least damage as Ag Comm. is so appropriate.

On a more serious note, the dumbing down of Kentucky elections has reached a crescendo with the Williams/Farmer ticket. Farmer should be given some credit for running for Ag Commish since its purpose is to oversee a shrinking industry. Thankfully, his position is one where he can do the least damage. His dept's duties are in one sense so broad and in another so intrusive that he can't possibly make many weighty decisions. Ag. Marketing is probably the dept's chief task and he fits in well as a state "celebrity".
But why in the world would anyone in the GOP like Farmer as a LT. Gov. when they themselves argue that the Demo's candidates lack experience and moral seasoning. From what I've seen, Farmer has little experience in formulating legislation and consensus building. The rallying point is generally his basketball exploits, not his political leadership. He's nothing more than the little homegrown shooting guard that roared.
