Howard Douglas Rodgers, 85 years, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012, at home with his family by his side after a long illness.
Services for Mr. Rodgers will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wallace Kent officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A native of Frankfort, he was born March 26, 1926, to Noble and Mary McDowell Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers served in the United States Army and was a World War II veteran. He retired as a route manager with National Linen and attended Crestwood Baptist Church.
Mr. Rodgers is survived by two daughters, Debbie Williams and Laura (Tim) Whalen; three sisters, Carrie Bemiss, Dove Quire, Louisville, Virginia Dawson, NC; four grandchildren, Brittany Williams, Adam Jamison, Lexington, Emily Jamison, Blake Tucker and two great grandchildren, Brendan and Grayson Jamison.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Louise Smith Rodgers and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Tim Whalen, Adam Jamison, Blake Tucker, Travis Tucker, Douglas Dawson and David Tupts. Honorary bearers will be Brendan Jamison, Grayson Jamison, Carol Campbell and Stephen Winn.
