James Bruce Sr.

James Kevin Bruce Sr., 54 years, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Services for Mr. Bruce will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at St. John AME Church with Rev. Jermaine L. Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors at the church Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service.

He was born January 19, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan and soon after his family moved to Rochester, New York.  He was a former member of the Kentucky State University football team and employed by the Department of Transportation, Commonwealth of Kentucky as an Engineering Tech III.  He was a member of the St. John AME Church.

Mr. Bruce is survived by his wife, Annette Graham Bruce; a son, James Kevin Bruce II; daughters, Ashante Graham (Gerren) Willis and Kathleen Bruce; his father, Jesse James Bruce; brothers, Terrance (Kate) Bruce, Fairport, NY and Vincent (Debbie) Bruce, Rochester, NY; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Fields Bruce and a sister, Evie Bruce-King.
