Ermmie “Aline” Kirk, 80, widow of Nobel L. Kirk, died Sunday, April 1, 2012. She was born on February 14, 1932 in Barren County to the late William B. and Iva M. House Rountree. She was a housekeeper for the Kings Daughters Hospital, a member of The Salvation Army Church, “Flying Solo”, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Iva K. Bingham; her son, Paul D. (Wanda) Kirk; grandchildren, William and James Bingham, Wendy and Daniel Kirk, Ben Shirley, and Jennifer Donovan; ten great-grandchildren, Johnny, Brooke, Abbey, Jacob, Kayla, Disney, Dale, Cameron, Matthew, and Rebecca; one sister, Emmer Irene Thompson, of Frankfort; three brothers, Ervin (Jay) Rountree, of Bowling Green, Jessie (Louise) Rountree, of Hodgenville, and James (Loretta) Rountree, of Louisville; and two step-brothers, J.C. Ragland, of Hodgenville, and Harold Ragland, of Bowling Green. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Atha Ellen Bostin, and her brother, William Rountree.
Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd., with Brother Paul Edward Rountree officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Major Roy Hicks officiating. Casket bearers are Larry Thompson, Curtis Kirk, James Bingham, John Ethington, William Bingham, and Toby McRoberts. Honorary casket bearers are Barry Kirk, Steve Woods, Danny Woods, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
