Katherine Hanly King

King, Katherine (Kathy) Hanly, 63, died peacefully at her home in Versailles, KY on Mon, April 23, 2012.  Born in Frankfort, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte F. and S. Sheldon “Bo” Hanly of Frankfort.  A graduate of Good Shepherd School, she was retired from the Legislative Research Commission.  

She is survived by Charles F. Black of Versailles; a son, Jon S. King and his wife Becky of Frankfort; a stepson, Chris Black of Florida; 3 granddaughters, Katherine King, Amanda Hargis, and Mia Hargis, all of Frankfort; 3 brothers, John (Pat), Stephen, and Allen Hanly, all of Frankfort; 2 sisters, Margaret Hanly of Frankfort, and Edie (Vince) Tharpe of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Jacob Hanly.  

Visitation will be Tues., April 24 from 5-8 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington.  

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wed., April 25 in the family section at Calvary Cemetery, 874 W. Main St., Lexington.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Tr., Frankfort, KY, 40601 or a charity of your choice.
