COLUMBUS, Ind. – Lola Marie Speer, 87, of Columbus passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Four Seasons Health Center in Columbus.
A funeral service will be held at the Four Seasons Health Center Chapel in Columbus, Indiana on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Brian Campbell officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
Born June 22, 1924, Lola was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Anna Hubbard Perry. Mrs. Speer graduated from Zenas High School in 1942 and later married Edgar Speer on June 25, 1945. He survives. She had worked for H&R Block as a tax preparer before retiring.
Lola was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbus. She also was a past chairperson for the Board of King’s Daughters Apartments, which supported living for the elderly in Frankfort, KY.
Survivors include her husband, Edgar Speer of Columbus; a daughter, Sandra (Wallace) Cantrell of Columbus; a son, David Randall Speer of Carmel; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Randy) Johnson and Shannon (Sam) Hickey and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Salvation Army.
