Edward Hartwell Harrod, 84, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Services for Mr. Harrod will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wallace Kent officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Franklin County, he was born September 19, 1927, to Exie and Mamie Rogers Harrod. Mr. Harrod retired from Stagg Distillers in 1982 and was a bus driver for the Franklin County School System, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church.
Mr. Harrod is survived by his sons, David L. Harrod (Mona) and Michael L. Harrod (Edwinna); four grandchildren, Jason, Christy, Cory and Raven; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert E. Harrod and Calvin Harrod; and sister Mary Ruth Perkins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Frances Hall Harrod; his parents; brothers, Leon, Leonard, Keith and Marvin Harrod; and sisters, Clara Mae Metts, Ruby Basil, Grace Smoak and Minnie Frances Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Hall, Larry Hall, Ricky Hall, R.L. Hall, Paul Harrod and Brent Harrod.
