Mildred McCann Aukerman, 78, Frankfort, died Wednesday at her residence of natural causes. A native of Lockport in Henry County, she was a 1981 graduate of Murray State University and clerk at the Ky. Dept. of Corrections until her retirement in 1997. Mildred had a lifelong passion for writing novels, short stories, poetry and greeting cards. She was very creative and enjoyed making crafts and baked goods for her family and friends. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Activity Center in Frankfort.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Corene Booth McCann and was preceded in death by her brother, Robert McCann.
Survivors include two daughters, Terri K. (Dale) Fugate, Frankfort and Ann Aukerman (Mitch McClain), Shelbyville; son, Del R. Aukerman, Shelbyville; sister, Nancy Jaus, Frankfort; brothers, Thomas (Pearl) McCann, Shelbyville, Willie (Dorothy) McCann, Frankfort, Danny (Judy) McCann, Shelbyville and James (Sharon) McCann, Laguna Vista, TX; three grandchildren, Jennifer McCain Barnett, Russell Adkins and Samuel Smith.
