Joyce Sue Ellis

Joyce Sue “Susie” Ellis, age 65, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Brownsboro Hills Nursing Home in Louisville.

Services for Susie will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dawn Montgomery and Rev. Dr. John Opsata officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A native of Franklin County, she was born May 20, 1946, to Ray William and Edith Vance Ellis.  She retired as an administrative secretary in the Human Resources Cabinet, Kentucky State Government.  Susie was a member of First Christian Church.

She is survived by her son, William A. Robinson, Jr.; a granddaughter, Brittany Robinson; a great-granddaughter, Aybrie Robinson; brothers, Glenn W. Ellis and Jerry R. Ellis (Carole) and sisters, Joan Vance Elswick (Ronnie) and Judith Ann Thompson.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Virginia Carolyn Ellis Gilchrist.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
