Services for Mary Louise Sutherland, 74 yrs., will be conducted from Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, with Rev. Wade Hughes, Rev. Jerry Parritt, Rev. David Smith, and Rev. Richard Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sutherland passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Accepting Christ as her Savior, she left these earthly bounds to be with her Heavenly Father.
Mary was born May 22, 1938, in Franklin Co., KY, previously owned the Elkhorn Campground, and retired from the Department of Parks as Manager after 13 years. She was a member of West Frankfort Church of God where she also served as President of the Ladies Ministry. Mary was a loving wife, mother, and Mamaw who enjoyed cooking, camping, family, and her church.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James P. Sutherland; sons, Mike Sutherland and Bo (Barbie) Sutherland; daughters, Kathy (Phillip) Marshall and Sandra (James) Sallee; brothers, Johnny (Hannah) Smith, Gary Smith, Danny Smith, and Scotty (Ann) Smith, Hopkinsville; sister, Ruth Ann McGuire; seven grandchildren, Chris (Jill) Marshall, Crystal (Matt) Brooks, Elizabethtown, Nickie (Russell) Sutherland, Michael (Angie) Sutherland Jr., Abbey and Abrianna Sutherland, and Monicah Sallee; ten great grandchildren, Casey, Kayleigh, and Cameron Marshall, Logan and Alliyah Brooks, Elizabethtown, Maddie Tincher, Bailee Goins, Haylie and Lillian Sutherland, and Corie Chism.
In addition to her parents, John P. and Dorothy Mitchell Smith, she was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Sutherland, brother, Earl Smith, and sister, Brenda True.
Chris Marshall, Michael Sutherland Jr., James Sallee, Phillip Marshall, Matt Brooks, and Russell Goins will serve as Pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Women’s Ministry from West Frankfort Church of God.
