Douglas Simpson

Services for Douglas F. Simpson, 81, Frankfort, will be held Saturday 1:00 p.m. at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. Brother Wallace Kent and Rev. Doug Simpson, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Frankfort Cemetery where Ky. State Police Honor Guard will perform honorary services.

A native of Franklin County, he was a Guard for the Ky. State Police Facilities Security. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, a former employee at Rand McNally and an insurance agent at Colonial Life Insurance Company.

He was the son of James Leslie and Katie Morrison Hackney Simpson.

Survivors include his wife Celesta Simpson, Frankfort; five sons, Rev. Doug (Connie) Simpson, Jr., Versailles, David (Gay) Simpson, Jeff (Philda) Simpson, Scott Samples all of Frankfort, Matthew (Hollie) Simpson, Florence; daughter, Kim (Daniel) Walker, Frankfort; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Walker, Scott Walker, Chris Simpson, Jeremy Simpson, George Shuler and Roger Wilhoite.

Visitation will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome, however, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY, 40601.
