Clell Upton

Clell Upton passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the age of 88. He was born on May 6, 1924 in Shelbyville, KY to the late McClelland and Hallie Upton.

Clell served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was the Chief of Police in his hometown. For many years he served as a State Fire Marshal for the state of Kentucky.

Clell is survived by his son Douglas (Suzanne) Upton of Lady Lake, FL, a daughter: Janet Robinson of KY, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marie in 2005, and his son, Sonny Upton.

Funeral services for Mr. Upton will be held on Thursday, Jun 28, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, FL. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis, FL. Memorials in Clell’s honor may be directed to the First Baptist Christian Care Center in Leesburg, FL.
