Heather Bruser

Heather Harris Bruser, 37, of Lexington, passed away on Friday, July 13th after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Benjamin Patrick Bruser of Lexington.

Heather was born in Frankfort, KY on May 22, 1975 and grew up in Frankfort. She attended Capital Day Elementary School and Western Hills High School in Frankfort. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Heather also achieved a Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky. She was licensed to practice law in both Kentucky and Tennessee.

Heather was the beloved daughter of Elwood and Helen (Sayre) Harris of Frankfort. Heather worked and practiced law for Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, where she had countless friends. Besides her husband, Benjamin, Heather leaves behind their son, Alexander Preston Bruser of Lexington. Heather also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephew as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

Heather was an incredible person and loved spending time with her son, husband, family and friends. She loved to travel and experience what the world had to offer; exploring new places and gaining new experiences. She was an honest, loving person who was able to see the good in everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19th at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexington. Visitation will be held today, July 18th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road in Lexington. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Heather’s honor to the American Cancer Society; flowers are also welcome.
