The Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth “Sis” Nickles Mitchell, 89, will be celebrated at The Church of the Good Shepherd on Friday, August 3 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Mitchell passed away Monday, July 30, 2012, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born in Frankfort, Kentucky, February 28, 1923, to the late Charles A. Nickles and Mary Haldi Nickles Tracy, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Holton Mitchell, and three brothers, Charles, William and James Paul Nickles.
She worked at South Central Bell and Rhorer’s Card and Book Shop and volunteered tirelessly at the Soup Kitchen, Food Pantry and Golden Living Nursing Home. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the Ladies’ Auxiliary.
Sis was a loving mother to five children, Joan Mitchell Lee, Charles Mitchell (Mary), Richard Mitchell (Debbie), Kay Woosley (Glyndon) and Greg Mitchell, all of Frankfort; and sister to Helen Hartley. She was affectionately known as “Bobo” by 11 grandchildren, Michael Lee, Stephen Lee, Sandy Stigers, Lisa Hargis, Chad Buffin, Amy New, Neesa Whitis, Jordan Moseley, Chase Moseley, Chris Mitchell and Drew Mitchell; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be grandsons Michael Lee, Stephen Lee, Chad Buffin, Jordan Moseley, Chase Moseley, Chris Mitchell and Drew Mitchell. Honorary bearers will be granddaughters Sandy Stigers, Lisa Hargis, Amy New and Neesa Whitis and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 2 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the Soup Kitchen. Arrangements are under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home.

We are all so sorry to hear about your mom's death. I saw Richard just a couple of weeks ago at the county fair and he said she was not feeling well and mentioned that she'd be 90 on her next birthday.
