Oscar Allen Polsgrove, 84, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012, at Bradford Square Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Services for Mr. Polsgrove will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Karsner officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home today from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A native of Franklin County, he was born July 25, 1928, to the late Ambrose Polsgrove and Cynthia Farthing Polsgrove Graham. Mr. Polsgrove was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served gallantly during the Korean War. He retired from Frankfort Chrysler where he sold automobiles for many years. He was a member and deacon of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Mr. Polsgrove is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elois Tracy Polsgrove; a daughter, Tracy Combs and her husband, Chris; a grandson, Christopher Combs; great-grandson J.T. Combs; a brother, Jack Polsgrove (Nancy), Navarre, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ambrose Allen Polsgrove; brothers, Howard, John Edmond, Bob and Frank Polsgrove; and sisters, Clara Harrod, Linnie Howard, Anna Lee Galbraith and Carrie Cirini.
Pallbearers will be Danny Barker, Doug Dearinger, Gary O’Nan, Cecil Hulette, Charlie Moore and Joe O’Connell. Honorary bearers will be Christopher Combs, Darrell Kemper, Calvin Smith, Elzie Barker, W.C. Booth, Tommy Ruble, Robert Polsgrove and Danny Crocker.
