Barbara Charlene Davis Locher, 87, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at Heritage Hall Rehabilitation and Health Center.
A memorial service for Mrs. Locher will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in Rogers Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:30 until the time of the service.
Mrs. Locher was retired from Kentucky State Government, having served as Secretary of the Turnpike Authority of Kentucky for more than 20 years. She was an active, devoted member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Frankfort.
Mrs. Locher was a loving mother to her daughter, Nancy L. Black (Fred Burch) of Frankfort and her son, Bruce A. Locher, Sr. (Dina) of Snellville, Ga. She is survived by a sister, Cornelia Schroeder of Evansville, Ind.; grandsons Cade Davis Black of Sacramento, Calif., Bruce Allen Locher, Jr. of Snellville, Ga., and Joel Knight (Tammy) of Bremen, Ga.; great-grandchildren Carson Cade Black and Cooper Davis Black of Madison, Va., and Aiden and Noah Knight; and several nieces and nephews, including William Howard Rhea (Cindy) of Sneedville, Tenn. and Donald Braden Rhea (Teresa Smith) of Fountain Inn, S.C.
Born on October 29, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Locher was the daughter of the late Charles William Davis, Sr. and Elma Agnes Sarber Davis. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles William Davis, Jr. and her sisters, Agnes Marion Davis and Faye Munson Davis Rhea.
