Gladys Harrod Smith, age 94, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, at Golden Living Center, Frankfort.
Services for Mrs. Smith will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2012, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Gillum, minister of Lighthouse Church, Versailles will officiate. Burial will follow in Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
A native of Franklin County, she was born June 7, 1918, to Russell and Mary Alice Ellis Harrod. Mrs. Smith was an employee of Blue Bonnet for many, many years.
A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, she is survived by a son, Wayne C. Edwards, Frankfort; a daughter, Anna R. Rutoskey, Versailles; six grandsons, Thomas R. Edwards, Paul A. Edwards, David G. Edwards, of Frankfort, Joseph C. Rutoskey, Patrick W. Rutoskey, of Versailles, Douglas S. Rutoskey, Indianapolis; 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, William Earl Edwards Jr., Earl Douglas Edwards; her parents and her brother, Haskell Harrod.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary bearers will be Mike Rutoskey, Christopher Rutoskey, Alex Edwards and Jeremy Edwards.
