Arzella H. Lackey

Arzella H. Lackey, 80, of Frankfort, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 after a short illness.

A native of Stanford, KY, she was preceded in death by her mother, Lenora Logan, father, Sylvester Hayes, sister, Gertrude “Polly” Searcy, and brother, Alphonsa L. Hayes. She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, William T. Lackey; a son, Wendell (Abby) Lackey; daughter, Ariana Lackey; three grandchildren, Aaron, Emily, and Sean; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.

Arzella spent over 25 years working at Kentucky State University in the bookstore and cashier’s office.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 100 Clinton St., Frankfort, with Rev. Reginald C. Davis officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers are Pierre Whitley, Mike Whitley, Sr., Ronald Banks, William Jones, William Fisher, and William Outerbridge. Honorary Casket bearers are DeAndre Adams, D.J. Adams, and Aaron Lackey-Stewart.
