LEBANON, OHIO – Revel Douglas Brophy, 84, of Lebanon, died Saturday September 1, 2012. Born July 15, 1928 in Frankfort, KY to Jesse and Halle (nee: Barker) Brophy, he was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, serving our country during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 900. He loved playing music, poker and loved his family dearly.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley (nee: Albertson) Brophy; two sons, Steven D. and David Brophy; one daughter, Cheryl Brophy; brothers, Edward, Forrest, Dallas, Steward, Henry and Raymond Brophy; and one sister, Mattie Catherine Brophy.
Survivors include two sons, Colby (Betty) Brophy of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Shawn Brophy of Beaver, OH; four daughters, Gwen Brophy of Frankfort, KY, Vicky Sizemore of Lebanon, Kathleen Gumm of Kettering, and Tina (Rusty) Meece of Kettering; two sisters, Louise Roberts of Frankfort, KY and Dorothy Gordon of Pablo Springs, CO; one brother-in-law, Garland “Sam” Bagford Jr. of Lebanon; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation, Saturday September 8, 2012 from 1-3 p.m. with funeral service immediately following, all at the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon. Reverend Shaun Watson officiating. Interment follows in Lebanon Cemetery.
