Betty Anglin

Betty Jean Hockensmith Anglin, 57, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with a long illness, Saturday, September 8, 2012, at University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center.

Services for Mrs. Anglin will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with Reverend Ronnie McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A native of Franklin County, she was born June 4, 1955. She retired from Kentucky Retirement Systems. Mrs. Anglin attended Peaks Mill Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband of 29 and a 1/2 happy years, Philip W. Anglin, Frankfort; two sons, Chris (Shara) Anglin, Nicholasville, Nick (Shannon) Anglin, Owenton; stepdaughter, but daughter by heart, Tracy Thomas and Troy Thomas, Frankfort; mother, Doris Daniel Hockensmith Howard and stepfather, John, Frankfort; brothers, Ronald (Cathy) Hockensmith, Frankfort, Freddie (Claudia) Hockensmith, Lawrenceburg; sister-in-law, Donna Hockensmith, Frankfort; sisters, Sarah (Charlie) Miller, LaGrange, Phyllis (Louis) McClain, Frankfort; eight grandchildren, Trey, Tavion and Taliyah Thomas, Micah Anglin, Zoie and Eli Anglin, Willie and Tayler Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Anglin was preceded in death by her father, Cecil V. Hockensmith; brother, Steve Hockensmith; sister, Brendella Hockensmith; and grandparents, Fred and Anna Mae Brumback, Gobel and Letha Hockensmith and Robert and Crystal Daniel.

Pallbearers will be Brandon McClain, Mike Hockensmith, Jonathan Hockensmith, Jeremy Hockensmith, Daniel Anglin and Jamie Hall. Honorary bearers will be Troy Thomas and Trey Thomas.
