The Mass of Christian Burial for Carl James Mucci, 91, will be held in the Church of the Good Shepherd at 11:00 a.m. Friday.
Mr. Mucci, who died Wednesday morning at the Golden Living Center, will be buried in the Frankfort Cemetery.
Born in Frankfort on June 8, 1921, Mr. Mucci was the son of the late John and Susie Benassi Mucci. A graduate of Campion High School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, he was the co-owner of Mucci’s Restaurant until its close in 1976 and worked in the mail room of the Transportation Department of Kentucky for 27 years. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, American Legion Post #7, and the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #530.
Survivors include two sisters, Grace Lynch and Susanne Lynch of Frankfort, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mucci was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Nell Mucci; four sisters, Nellie Mucci, Flora Mucci, Mary Lou Crockett, and Mary Evelyn Cecil; and two brothers, John and Thomas Mucci.
Pallbearers will be John Richard Mucci, Jimmy Mucci, Dickie Mucci, Tom Mucci, Michael Mucci, and John Brown.
Honorary bearers will be Clifford Helton and James Alfred Gaffney.
Friends may call at the church from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday.
Rogers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
