Robert ‘R.C.’ Lester

Robert Charles “R.C.” Lester, 79, of Harrodsburg, husband of Bonnie Holiday Lester died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. R.C. was born September 26, 1933 in Mercer County; he was the son of the late Za Thomas and Nellie Frances Bottoms Lester. He was a former employee of Corning Incorporated, Lawrenceburg Transfer and a retired farmer. He was a member of the Cornishville Baptist Church and enjoyed taking care of his dairy and beef cattle.

In addition to his wife, R.C. is survived by two daughters: Teresa Deerwester of Danville and Bonnie Sue (Mike) Snow of Frankfort. A grandson, David Charles (Kristina) Driscoll whom R.C. and Bonnie raised as a son, one brother: Z.T. (Vivian) Lester of Frankfort, four sisters: Marsola Baker, Loretta Baker, Hettie Logue and Jewell Henninger all of Harrodsburg, three grandchildren: Christopher Hawkins, Robbie Hawkins and Jacody Deerwester, two step-grandsons: Aaron and Mark Snow, seven great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Todd Lester, Mark King and Terry Lester officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Chris Hawkins, Robert Hawkins, Jacody Deerwester, Aaron Snow and Mark Snow serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 4, 2012 and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
