Emmitt Tate

Funeral services for Emmitt C. Tate, 79, will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. Dr. Herman Bowers will officiate. Burial will follow in Frankfort Cemetery.

Mr. Tate died at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center of natural causes.

He was born in Frankfort and worked as maintenance supervisor for Frankfort Cemetery for over 50 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Emmitt was the son of Raymond and Icy Mae Woolums Tate and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Tate, brothers James and Raymond and sister Athline Coubert.

Survivors include a sister, Joann (Hubert) Payton, Frankfort, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Alton Wesley Payton, Paul Allen Rice, Jeffrey Rice, Josh Rice, Jim Milam and Hubert Payton. Honorary bearer is Frank Bennett.

Visitation will be held Wednesday 6:00-8:00 p.m. at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor.
