LEXINGTON – Sarah Francis Barbour, 93, wife of the late Walter O. Barbour, died Thursday Oct. 18, 2012 at her residence. Born June 26, 1919 in Franklin County, KY, she was the daughter of the late George Edward and Callie Ola Moreland Howard. Mrs. Barbour retired after 31 years of service from the Fayette County Board of Education where she had worked in the Winburn Middle School Cafeteria. Survivors include her children, Patricia A. Barbour and Walter O. (Barbara) Barbour; grandchildren, Marcy (Roger) Conrad, Christin (Matt) Sims, Lisa (Steve) Rogers, Patrick (Cindy) Hawkins, Jonathan (Bettina) Hawkins, Matt Barbour, Drew Barbour, Sarah (Brian) McMahan, and Bo Barbour; great-grandchildren, Samantha (Aaron) Hrdlicka, Haley Hawkins, Trae Sims, Philip Sims, Christian Sims, Hunter Lewis, Hudson Hawkins, Kaitlyn Hawkins, Akash Barbour, and Keya Barbour; brothers and sisters, John (Doris) Howard, Robert (Ola Bell) Howard, Earl B. (Louise) Howard, and Leroy (Caroline) Howard; many other extended family members; and her cherished lifelong friends, Nona, Viola, Della and Mary. In addition to her husband Walter, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny Lynn Barbour; grandson, Timothy J. Hawkins; four sisters, Louise (Jack) Hutchinson, Edna (Frank) Meyers, Elizabeth (Keith) Harrod, and Victoria Howard; and two brothers, George (Jean) Howard, Jr. and James Howard. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. today at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington with visitation beginning 2 p.m. today until the service time. A graveside prayer service and burial will take place 10 a.m. Monday at Lexington Cemetery.
