Berenice Buckner, 97, of Evarts passed away Monday Oct. 22, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Frankfort, KY.
She was born September 28, 1915 in Ages, KY, to the late James Howard and Dezzie Creech Turner. She was a retired school teacher having taught at Evarts Elementary School for over 30 years. She was a member of the Evarts Congregational United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Buckner.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Gina Buckner and husband Tommy West of Frankfort, KY; several nieces, nephews, and two special friends, Jackie Renfro and Benny Dale Coleman.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday Oct. 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Evarts Congregational United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Amundsen and Rev. David Gross officiating.
Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, KY.
Pallbearers will be Benny Dale Coleman, David Cooper, William Smith, Denver Turner, Bret Lewis, Robert Amundsen, David Gay, Bart McClain, and Thomas West.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday Oct. 25, 2012 at the Evarts Congregational United Methodist Church.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to the Hospice of the Bluegrass of Frankfort.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Hospice of the Bluegrass 643 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601 in memory of Mrs. Buckner.
