Services for Celesta “Cookie” Simpson, 66, Frankfort, will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home. Reverends David Smith and Doug Simpson will officiate. Burial will follow in Frankfort Cemetery.
Mrs. Simpson died Monday at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Frankfort and was a homemaker and former employee of Franklin Manor, Medco Nursing Facilities and Ancient Age Distilleries. She was a member of Pinkard Baptist Church, Versailles.
She was the daughter of Marvin Daniel and Ada Florence Potts Thomas and was preceded in death by husband Douglas Simpson and sister, Margaret Jean Tyson.
Survivors include daughter, Kim (Daniel) Walker, Frankfort; three sons Scott Samples, Frankfort, Matt (Holly) Simpson, Florence, Rev. Doug (Connie) Simpson, Versailles; two brothers Marvin C. (Carolyn) Thomas and James D. (Frances) Thomas, Both of Frankfort; Five grandchildren Erica Peyton, Scott (Mandie) Walker, Ryan Walker, Jenny Beth Lucas and Adam Bryant; Five great grandchildren, Trevor Walker, James Walker, Abby Lucas, Bianca Bryant and Ethan Bryant.
Pallbearers will Scott Walker, Ryan Walker, Adam Bryant, Danny and Shawn Thomas, and George Shuler. Visitation will be Wednesday, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
