LAWRENCEBURG – Phyllis McKeehan Shuttleworth, age 56, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2012.
Funeral services for Phyllis will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Born in Hardin County on October 7, 1956, she attended Franklin County High School and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education from Eastern Kentucky University. She taught at Model Lab High School for 16 years. She retired from Department of Education, Commonwealth of Kentucky. Phyllis was a member of Central Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg.
She was preceded in death by her father, James O. McKeehan. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, John Shuttleworth, Sr.; her mother, Lillias McKeehan, Frankfort; a son, John Shuttleworth Jr. (Jennifer), Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Colin, Kristen, Bryson and Madison Shuttleworth; two sisters, Teresa Demaree (Bob), Frankfort, and Barbara Koontz (Joe), Louisville; and one nephew, James Goodrich, Frankfort.
Bearers will be Steve True, Kevin Moore, Kevin O’Hair, James Simpson, Ted Noe, Richard Daye, John Mark Clements and Jim Showalter.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory are suggested to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Kentucky, 836 East Euclid Avenue, Suite 317, Lexington, KY 40502-1973.
