Emily A. “Dusty” Wilson, 71, Shelbyville, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Jewish Hospital. A native of Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Jackson Wilson and Elmore A. Wilson, Sr. She attended Lincoln Institute. She retired from Kentucky State University in Frankfort as an environmental technician following 28 years of service. She was a devoted member of Church of God of America (Greater Shiloh Temple) since April 1983, where she served as deaconess, secretary, treasurer and reader.
In addition to her parents, one infant son, Tyrone Wilson, one brother, Rev. Elmore A. Wilson, Jr., one sister, Lacy O. Wilson and one infant sister, Iona Hunter, preceded her in death.
Survivors include seven children, Dale Adrian Kennedy, Bryan Keith Kennedy, Canidy Y. (Thomas) Barnett, James “Jamie” M. Wilson, Shauna I. Wilson, George L. Wilson and Christopher S. Wilson, all of Shelbyville; eight siblings, Sylvia (Thomas Jr.) Marshall, Barbara Wilson, Sherman Wilson, Greg (Marla) Hunter and Lucien (Kimberly) Hunter, Jr., all of Shelbyville, Brenda Wilson of Frankfort, Mary (Leon) Benson of Louisville and Evangelist Bernice (Elder Eric) Barnes of Somerset; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dana Wilson of Louisville; three aunts, Margaret Mack of Silver Springs, MD, Mary K. Alexander of Rockville, MD and Pauline Jackson of Louisville and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Clay Street Baptist Church with visitation 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Elder Justin Barnes and Elder Eric Barnes will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
