Funeral services for Marjorie A. Murphy, 97, will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Church. Father Charles Howell will officiate. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery.
A native of Frankfort, she died Monday at Taylor Manor in Versailles. Miss Murphy retired from Kentucky State Government, Department of Military Affairs, in 1981 after 31 years of service. Miss Murphy was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Frankfort where she participated in the Renew program, was a member of the Altar Society, the bulletin committee, and a very longtime contributor to the St. Vincent DePaul Society both financially and with her skills as an excellent seamstress. She was active in the Democratic Party, was a member of the Altrusa Club, and a longtime supporter of the Salvation Army. She enjoyed travel, and her hobbies included gardening, baking, ceramics and bridge.
Survivors are her nephews Tom, John and Jim Gorman. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Mary C. Gorman.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
