Harold ‘Rusty’ Batdorff

Memorial services for Harold P. “Rusty” Batdorff, 53, will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Refreshing Word Ministries. Rev. Tommy Hockensmith will officiate. Family and friends will gather at the church Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m.

Rusty passed away December 29, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospice Care Center, Lexington.

He was born in Akron, Ohio on December 13, 1959, the son of Pete P. Batdorff and Betty Joyce Shepard Curtis. He served in the Ohio Army National Guard and was a former employee of Winthrow Railroad Construction, Barberton, Ohio. Rusty attended Refreshing Word Ministries.

He is survived by his wife of a year, Helen Alice Phelps Batdorff; his mother; daughters, Candice Batdorff and Nikki Howell; stepson, Steven Andrew Rhodes; three granddaughters; one great-grandson; and a sister, Janice Esque, Akron, OH. Rusty will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rusty was preceded in death by a son, Brian Thomas Batdorff; his father; and a brother, Ralph Thomas Batdorff.
