Services for Elmer Lee Ellis, 88, will be held in Rogers Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Ellis, who passed away Saturday at his home, will be buried in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Born in Frankfort on January 7, 1925, he was the son of the late Elmer L. and Verna Moore Ellis. A Navy veteran of World War II, he worked for over 60 years as a mechanic for Crestwood Garage, Kain Ford, Countryside Ford, and many others. An avid University of Louisville and NASCAR fan, he attended Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include three children, Keenan Ellis (Pearl) of Texas, Cherly Bogie (Don) of Alabama, and Kevin Ellis (Wendy) of Lexington; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Saah of Florida; and a niece and caregiver, Sandra Morris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Wolz Ellis, and brother, Roger K. Ellis.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Ellis’s grandchildren.
Tom Troth and Vernon Carpenter will officiate the services.
Flowers are welcomed, while the family suggests contributions in Mr. Ellis’s memory to the charity of your choice.
Friends may call at Rogers from 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
