Anita Lyen

LAWRENCEBURG – Anita Katherine “Kitty” Stratton Lyen, 90, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.   She was born in Anderson County on Jan. 24, 1922 to the late Thomas C. and Norma Stratton.

She was a retired secretary of the Finance & Administration Dept. of Kentucky State Government.  In 1941 she graduated from Lawrenceburg City High School and then attended Whitworth College in Brookhaven, MS.  She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Homemakers Club.

Kitty is survived by two daughters, Brenda Lyen and Linda Taylor, both of Frankfort; a granddaughter, Mary Katherine DeBold (Jimmy) of Versailles; two great-grandchildren, James Curtis DeBold and Emily Katherine DeBold; and a brother, Viron Stratton (Betty) of Lawrenceburg. She was preceded in death by a sister, Iris Stratton Willis, and a brother, Tom Stratton Jr.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24th at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery pavilion with Rev. Grant O’Dell officiating. Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. Thursday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.
