Berna Rogers

A memorial service for Berna J. Rogers, 83, wife of H. K. “Chug”

Rogers, will be held in Rogers Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Rogers died Monday morning in the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Born in Plainview, Texas on March 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late B. J. and Rosalie Bragg Bartlett. She received a degree in journalism from Texas Tech University, was a tremendously supportive military wife for 30 years, a loving mother, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, K. Bart Rogers, and a brother, Jim Bartlett.

Along with her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Pillow (Robert) of Frankfort; a grandson, Brian Rogers; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Don Bartlett.

The Rev. Jack Brewer will officiate the service.

Friends may call at Rogers from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Franklin

County Humane Society or Hospice of the Bluegrass.

  • I did not know Mrs. Rogers, however I am so grateful for her kindess in remembering the Franklin County Humane Society as part of her legacy. My condolences to her family and friends.
