Services for Henry Sidney Sullivan, 72, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Everett Hawkins officiating. Burial and military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m.
Sid passed away at Central Baptist Hospital Saturday, February 2, 2013, with his family around him.
A native of Fayette County, he was born October 15, 1940, to the late Charles and Gladys Bowen Sullivan. He retired from the United States Army in 1993 and later worked for Auto Zone where he was a commercial parts manager.
Sid is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Ann Green Sullivan; a daughter, Deborah Tippery; a son, Charles Scott Sullivan; four grandsons, one granddaughter; three great-grandsons; sister, Mitzie Riddle (Charlie) of Owenton; and one brother, Julian Sullivan (Jenne) of Michigan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Nesselrode and three brothers, Kenneth, Melvin and Doug Sullivan.
Carlton Grimes, Kevin Grimes, Brian Riddle, Jesse Traver, Gage Traver and Cory Tippery will serve as pallbearers. Honorary bearers are Paul Penn, Richard Sandifer and Jerry Terrell.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory are suggested to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, 50 Bridgeport-Benson Rd., Frankfort, KY 40601.
