Virginia Mae Mitchell Clark, 83, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013, at Golden Living Center.
Services for Mrs. Clark will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the service.
She was born in Scott County, KY on September 28, 1929, to the late William Lewis Mitchell and Julia Elizabeth Clemons Mitchell Jones. Mrs. Clark was a homemaker and is greatly loved. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by daughter, Edith Louise Clark Rayburn; two step sons, John Dillon Clark Jr. and Cleveland Hadley Clark; brother, Carl Mitchell; sisters, Edith Rose Switzer, Beulah Bales; half-brother, Charlie Shields; half-sister Nancy Ellen Miller Stone; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 27 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Clark was the widow of John Dillon Clark Sr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by step son, Dennis Edward Clark; step daughter, Mary Jean Riddle; brothers Kenneth and Robert Mitchell; sisters, Geneva Newman, Rebecca Mitchell, and Viola Newport; half-brothers, Clarence “Pete” Mitchell, John Anderson Mitchell, and James Lewis Mitchell; and half-sisters, Edna Mae Clemons, Willie B. Shields, and Mary Suzie Henderson-Woolums.
