Gladys Young

SHELBYVILLE – Gladys Burge Young, 89, died Sunday, February 17, 2013, in Lexington at the Hospice Care Center. A native of Shelby County, she was the daughter of the late Len B. and Bertha Tracy Burge. She was the widow of William Paul Young. She retired as a quality control inspector for Union Underwear Company following 45 years of service and worked for nine years as a cashier at Family Dollar Store. She was a lifelong member of Beechridge Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher.

In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Froman Burge and Stanford Burge, preceded her in death.

Survivors include one brother, Landon Burge of Frankfort and several nieces and nephews, Linda Mueller of St. Charles, MO, Patty Arthur of Georgetown, Butch Burge of Bagdad, Connie Woolums, Rodney Burge and Larry Burge, all of Frankfort, and Jill Burton of Boston, KY.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Webb Funeral Home with visitation 3-9 p.m. Tuesday. Bro. Chuck Umholtz will officiate. Burial will follow at Bagdad Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Manley, Brandon Manley, Eric Burge, Blake Manley, Rodney Burge and Mathew Lutes.

Flowers are welcome, and expressions of sympathy may be made to Beechridge Baptist Church, 9798 Benson Pike, Bagdad, KY 40003.

I know that your in a better place and that your joyus, happy and free of pain and thats all I ever wanted for you.
