LAWRENCEBURG – Thomas Wesley Blair, 72, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. He was born in Louisville, KY to the late Wesley and Margaret Elaine Thomas Blair.
Mr. Blair retired as an EN1 following 20 years in active duty with the U.S. Navy. He served in the Vietnam War and was the recipient of numerous metals including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He also worked security for Branch & Facilities Division of KY State Government for 20 years. His memberships include the American Legion Post 34, Disabled Am. Veterans, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Asst. Scout Master for 15 years, Law Enforcement Explorers, Fire Explorers, Hiram Masonic Lodge #4 in Frankfort, and the Oleika Shrine Temple.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mildred Sims Blair; two sons, Mark Thomas Blair, and Wesley Scott Blair (Amanda); a grandson, Trevor Thomas Blair, all of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Elaine Blair Holt of Dundas, VA; and an uncle, William L. Thomas of Trimble Co., KY.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday with Masonic Rites at 7:30 p.m. by Hiram Lodge #4. (Lodge open at funeral home at 7 p.m.)
