Sam B. Downing III

LEXINGTON – Sam B. Downing III, 72, husband of Nancy Downing, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 in Frankfort, KY.

Born in Lexington, he was a son of the late Sam and Katherine Downing Jr. He was a graduate of E.K.U., member of Ducks Unlimited and the Bluegrass Sportsman Club, and was an avid sportsman. Survivors other than his wife are two children, Brian Downing (Vonda) and David Downing (Sunitha); three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and two sisters. Graveside burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 11 at Lexington Cemetery. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. is in charge of arrangements.
