Joe Robinson

Joe Van Robinson, 53, of Frankfort, formerly of Shelby County, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.  A native of Shelbyville, he was the son of the late Carl Ernest, Sr., and Eva Lee Morgan Robinson.  He was a former restaurant cook and a member of the East Frankfort Baptist Church.  Gardening and carpentry work were his favorite hobbies, and he was an enthusiastic fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

Survivors include his sisters, Barbara Mills and her husband, Donnie, of Lawrenceburg; Lossie Goodlett and her husband, Joe, of Taylorsville; and Polly West and her husband, Bill, of Frankfort; his beloved canine companion and “best friend,” Duke; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013, at the Bagdad Cemetery in Bagdad, Ky., with the Reverend Larry Brown officiating, with interment to follow the service.  Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m., until 1 p.m. Monday at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Bluegrass and online condolences may be expressed at www.halltaylorfuneralhomes.com.
