Marjorie Jones

Services for Marjorie Harrod Jones, 74, will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, Frankfort, Ky., with Rev. Everett Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 10, 2013 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

A native of Franklin County, she was born May 16, 1938, to the late William and Lauretta McAllister Harrod. She was an employee of Libraries and Archives for 19 years before becoming the first State Law Librarian to hold that position without a degree in law. After 27 years with the Law Library, Marjorie retired to enjoy reading, vacationing and spending time with her family.

Marjorie is survived by her loving spouse of 57 years, Clint; son, Clinton (Oletta) Jones Jr.; daughter, Sandra (Ralph) Shields, all of Frankfort, Ky.; brother, Adriel Harrod Sr., Lawrenceburg, Ky.; grandson, Jake (Nicole Gooding) Jones; granddaughter, Audrey (Ben) Ramsey; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Jimmy and Paula Downs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Dorman and George W. Harrod Sr., and sisters, Zelma Harrod and Ruby Charlotte Coates.

Flowers are welcome, while the family encourages expressions of sympathy in Marjorie’s memory to Hospice of the Bluegrass/Frankfort Office, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601.
