Pete Alvin Hardin, 88, widower of Alice Faye Roberts Hardin, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at his home.
A native of Shelbyville, Mr. Hardin was born July 12, 1925 to the late Pete and Clara Clark Hardin. He retired from Fanmer Carpenters Local 1650 where he worked from 1965-1987 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was a Veteran of WWII, an active member of Central Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and his hobby was mowing his neighbors’ lawns. Mr. Hardin is survived by a daughter, Linda H. Lewis of Frankfort; two sons, Jerry A. (Charlene) Hardin and Lonnie G. Hardin both of Frankfort; a sister, Christine Whisman of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a love companion, Harley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Central Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 4330, Frankfort, KY 40602; Gideons of Anderson County; or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road with Rev. Rick Clark of Central Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg officiating.
