Katherine Moffett Oliver, age 80, widow of Marion Jackson Oliver, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.
Memorial services for Mrs. Oliver will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Highland Christian Church with Dr. Scott Rollins and Rev. William Brumley officiating. A committal service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the church Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A native of Shelby County, KY, she was born September 3, 1933, to the late David Vincent and Estelle B. Wylie Moffett. Mrs. Oliver was a former employee of GE/Jones Plastics. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed dancing and bluegrass music. She looked forward to attending the production of Mayberry each year.
Mrs. Oliver is survived by her children, Kathy Warren (John) and Joey Yates (Kim); five grandchildren, Katie, Carrie and Zachary Yates, Travis Curtsinger, Josh McCray; three great-grandchildren, Kadance Poole, Jaxson Shaw, Madison McCray; brother, Howard Ray Moffett; sister, Jane Eads; a special niece and caregiver, Opal Beat; and great grand dog, Anna Grace.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy, Ural, Bill, Bob and Lee Moffett; and sisters, Martha Summerland, Dorothy Mae Sheets, and Alyine Dunn.
