Private family funeral services for Donald (Don) Taylor, 76, Frankfort will be held Friday 11 a.m. at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Allen will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. A native of Frankfort he spent his life farming and was co- owner of Brite Life Tobacco Warehouses in Carrollton. He was a member of Swallowfield Baptist Church and served in the US Army at the Panama Canal.
Don was the son of the late Waldene Ford Taylor Boone and Raymond Norwood Taylor, Sr. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lori J. Taylor Powers and brother Raymond Norwood Taylor, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years Kathleen Taylor, Frankfort; sons David and Don (Anne) Taylor, Frankfort; son-in-law J.O. Powers, Owenton; sisters Carolyn Redmon, Frankfort and Mary Jane Broughton, Lawrenceburg; grandchildren Morgan Denise Taylor, Frankfort, Kaleb Taylor, Florence and Claire Irish, Frankfort.
Pallbearers will be Bill Karsner, Randy Smither, Frankie Taylor, Ricky Perry, J.O. Powers, Mike Morrow, Charles O. Bush, Landon Mefford and Martin Hensen. Honorary bearers will be Michael Partin, Bucky Hall, Ken Thompson and Monty Craigmyle.
Visitation will be held Thursday 5:00-8:00 p.m. at LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home.
