Cynthia Rose Comley

Cynthia Rose Comley, 54 years, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the home of her parents.

Cindy was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on November 13, 1959, and was the daughter of Maxine Harding and the late Robert Parker Comley. She was a lifelong member of Highland Christian Church and served as a deacon, pianist, and vocalist with the choir.

A graduate of Franklin County High School and Sullivan University, Cindy had a career as a Certified Medical Assistant and for the last 15 years was employed by Pediatric Associates of Frankfort. Cindy also served on the Allied Health Advisory Board of Spencerian College/Sullivan University. She was also a member, past president, and trustee of the American Association of Medical Assistants, as well as holding many offices at the state and local level.

She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Judy Comley Rhodes, ME, Robert H. Comley (Genie), GA, Jerry Comley (Mary Jo), Katherine Comley, Pat Comley (Tammy), and Paul Comley (Barbara). 

She was known affectionately as “Ninny” to her nieces and nephews who survive her, Robert Rhodes (Becky), James Rhodes (Jenna), Kimberly Conterio (Josh), Rebecca Comley, Max Comley (Ashley), Eric Comley (Sara), Ashlye Comley, Kyle Comley, Parker Comley, Chris Comley, and Katlyn Comley. She was also a great-aunt to Carys and Cailyn Rhodes, Addison Comley, Clara and Zoe Conterio, and Cash and Lynnin Comley. And numerous step-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeny Parker Comley, and a nephew, Robert Tyler Comley.

The family gives special thanks for the excellent and compassionate medical care given by Dr. Lee Hicks and Dr. Mark Dougherty and their staffs.

Visitation will be at Highland Christian Church, 265 Versailles Rd., Frankfort, KY, on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Monday, December 16, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am with Dr. Scott Rollins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers and honorary bearers will be her nieces. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Highland Christian Church, 265 Versailles Rd., Frankfort, KY 40601, to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 663 Teton Trail, Frankfort, KY 40601, to Special Olympics of Franklin County, 105 Lakeview Ct, Frankfort, KY 40601, or to charity of choice.
