Norman Kiper

Celebration of Life services for Norman L. “Norm” Kiper, 50, will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 6 p.m. at First Church of God, Frankfort. Revs. Tom Denney and Elder Goble will officiate. 

Mr. Kiper died accidentally at work on Monday. A native of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Norm was shop foreman for Bill Collins Ford, Louisville, and a certified Master Technician. Norm was devoted to his wife and daughter and enjoyed family gatherings, especially joking with the kids. He was a prankster by nature and loved to make people smile. 

He was a Christian man who was an active member of First Church of God.  He loved to hear his wife sing and play piano. Norm was an avid golfer who hit not one but two hole-in-ones on the same hole at Juniper Hills Golf course. “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” — Dr. Seuss.

He is the son of Jenny (Alvin) Hines, Shelbyville, and the late Charles Wilbur Kiper. Survivors include his wife, Paula Reed Kiper, daughter, Kristian Wright, Frankfort; two brothers, Charles Kiper, Shelbyville, and Kenny (Christian) Rhein, Covington, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Eric Novosel, Bryan Heilman, John Coots, David Johnson, Dwayne Reed, Dickie Phillips, Tyler Hellard, Nelson Henderson, Seth Proctor and Larry Robinson. Honorary bearers will be nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, 1-6 p.m. at First Church of God, 1029 Burlington Lane, Frankfort. Contributions may be made to First Church of God Building Fund. LeCompte Johnson Taylor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visit
